Back in the Saddle.

It takes time. Obviously. And I am no closer to my normal self, and I don't know what that is or if I will ever find it. But I am someone else now, and that is okay. I hope that I am a wiser person for it, I think much more now, I accept much more now, and I understand the value of taking my time now more than ever. Time is precious, don't waste it on anyone that does not mean the world to you.

So today, for the first time I am taking a long breath and I am climbing back into the saddle. I have tried to write. I've started sentences many times over the past few weeks, but every time that I do, it all just comes back to him... to Tyler... to all the questions I have for him... all the words that are left in my heart for him... and when those come, I stop typing. (and usually I start crying) I talk to him, often, don't worry. I am grieving the best that I can... but I, now, here, I want to come back to you all and write about what makes me happy... all the superficial things that don't take effort to write  about. I cannot promise that I won't write about my feelings, and I cannot promise that I won't mention how I am feeling now and again. But for today and for now I am back to blog about gooey crap, funny moments, and those things in life that just keep me going. Thank you for your patience.

Love,
B.

Monday Moments.

Do you just have those days where you can't get started? I have been going since 5:45 AM and I have gotten a lot done but I haven't really been into it. There is pumpkin bread in the oven. A sleepy/sick baby that stayed home from school today in our Master, laundry has all been cleaned, folded, and put away... and the kitchen is almost completely clean.... but my head just hasn't been in today. I guess there isn't much thought that needs to go into a Monday though, right?

So instead I will plan my menu for the week, vacuum, and watch HBO kids with my Mini.....

Here's what has been going on in our neck of the woods:

We've had family birthdays, dance classes, puppy snuggles, and electronic shopping:

New house items, coffee with cats, Italian beef, and healthy crap for breakfast:

Have a good Monday, I am pretty sure that I am going to stuff my face with pumpkin bread, and cover it with butter cream icing now. Be jealous.

Family. Pictures.

Well, it's Wednesday and I have decided that I want to post Monday/Wednesday/Friday so that there is some type of schedule that is easier to follow for you all! I will try to stick with that, don't hate me if I don't LOL

Right now my thoughts were interrupted by a commercial about self lubricating catheters..... so that is happening right now. I hope you are enjoying the visual like I am.... so much so. So great. Self.lubricating.catheter. great. Now that I have that burned into your brain lets get on with Hump day.

I have scheduled family pictures for the past 4 weeks. Every time we go to get them taken it rains. Every single time. And finally today is, hopefully, the day that it actually is going to happen. So here's hoping. And yes, they will be cheesy, goofy pictures. You've been warned. I will post them later along with a fabulous review on our photog.... I can't wait. Can you tell.

Here are some ideas I've been throwing around for family pictures.... let me know what you think:

I like themes.... and this just looked so natural to me.
Sometimes the perfect moment for a picture hits at the perfect moment for a bowl movement, why choose one when you can do both?
Cats. Why not?
I'll bring the hairspray, you bring the spunk. This picture is a home run in my opinion.
Look at the adventure and fun in this picture. Believable?? I think so.
I wanted to do a couples picture, and this all just seemed so...classy.
A family that....is hands on is a family that gets it. Get it, 'hands on'.....
Just so much yes....so much. SO MUCH.
I want to go Medieval on this picture... it's so fabulous.
And then lastly.... what is family pictures without a gun and bird? I don't know, and I don't want to know.

Wish us luck!!

How To: Pretend you are listening....

I know, I know this is a horrible how to, but it also is extremely helpful in life. Judge if you may (jerk) but you will eventually end up using this 'how to' when you run into someone that is flat out boring.... dumb... or is just not your cup of tea. (Or if, when they talk, you feel like punching something innocent that is not involved in the annoyances of your life i.e. the person standing in front or near your face.)

Here are a few easy steps to making it through your day without having to listen... to anyone.

1. Try to look interested... making a face like this:

2. Do this. But not if you're at work. You might get fired:

3. Respond ever 1.4 minutes with.... "Exactly" and then make this face, it makes you look serious enough for them NOT to ask questions:

4. Avoidance. When they start talking say, "I'm sorry but I have a meeting to go to." And then RUN away.

5. Do this, definitely:

6. Shush them.

7. Just hug them. Mid-sentence (you'll have to guess with that one, since you haven't been listening) hug them. Hard. Until it's so unbearably uncomfortable that they make up an excuse to leave.

8. Cry. A lot. Ugly face cry. KIM KARDASHIAN cry.

9. Start Coughing... and don't stop:

10. Fake fall asleep and/or faint... just like this.

I hope (if you were actually paying attention to what you were reading) that this list has enlightened your worn out ears that are full of the burdens of listening. Life can be a happy, fun place when you're the only one that matters. After all, you're the only one that actually has something important to say, right?

Happy Humpalump Day!

How to survive anything.

I am pretty sure that at some point in your life you have thought, "What would I do if {Fill in the blank}happened?" Don't tell me you haven't thought about it, because you would be lying. Liar. Sorry I didn't mean that. (Yes I did)...

I decided to make a list of things that you always need on hand because: you. just. never. know.

Zombie apocalypse? Check. Family Reunion? Check. Basketball game in overtime? Check. Avalanche? Check. Root Canal? Check.

Here are my top ten always needed products no matter where you are, in no specific order. (Due to the fact that they are all equally awesome):

1. Icing in a can. You know this cure many things in life. Don't mess....because it doesn't.

2. Mobile WiFi spot. LIFE SAVER.

3. Come on ladies, let's be honest.... we need tweezers. Always. End. Of. Story.
 4. Have you ever spent a night in heels? Fold up shoes are a must....men or women.
 5. A Machete? You may ask. Ummmm....zombie slasher.
 6. Here is where it's at. Solar charger. Needed. Always. Especially if you are me.
 7. Gummy bears were my icing in a can before icing in a can existed. Gummy bears are where it's at. And they never go bad. Fact.

 8. Fire starters. I mean my dance moves are pretty much fire starters, but sometimes not everyone has moves like Jagger (me) so this is a good back up.

9. Coconut Oil. It cures, fixes, and creates everything. Right?

10. And last...but certainly not least. Glitter. Makes the world go round. If you want to knock glitter...GET OFF MY SITE. Sorry, didn't mean to yell, but seriously. Glitter is where it is at. Period.

There you have it. My top ten list of items needed to survive anything. I hope this has helped you out and inspired you. If not well, you have no imagination and I bet you don't even believe in unicorns or happily ever after. And that is sad.

Have a great Thursday! (It's almost Friday!!)

2013

I'm not Catholic, nor will I ever try to be, but I have been to mass and something has always stuck with me from those times. It is what they say..... specifically, 'peace be with you.'

How many times do we say that in our day, our week, or even our month? Do we wish peace for people? Do we even think to do so?

I don't do resolutions, I do life changes. But this year, even if I do not verbalize it, I want to wish peace for people that I care about, that I meet, and that are still very much strangers to me. There is something so powerful about saying to someone, 'peace be with you,' that no matter who they are or what they have done, in spite of all of that, you want them to have peace. So today, I say, peace be with you and have a wonderful 2013!
